Are hovercraft 'eco' and scenic tours available?
Hovergo SG operate scenic tours and environmentally responsible eco tours on the estuaries of Corner Inlet near Wilsons Promontory in Victoria, using very quiet specially designed passenger hovercraft.
Short hover trips: 5-15 minutes : Fly quietly and low over sand and water, see fish and rays basking in the shallows, get up close to the bird life without disturbance.
Scenic tours: 1/2-1 hour : Fly along the winding Snake Estuary between the sand islands, burst out of the estuary face to face with the massive granite mountains of Wilsons Promontory and the huge expanse of water that is Corner Inlet. Travel past the longest open public jetty in Australia where trawlers and the ferries to Flinders Island berth.
Half Day and Full Day tours to remote parts of the Ninety-Mile Beach and to Wilsons Promontory.
There are parts of the Ninety Mile beach difficult to get to without a hovercraft, they are secluded and quite private, this is the ideal getaway where you can rough it in the bush and swim in the waves crashing onto the shore from the southern ocean.
If bush walking is your thing, you can see the kangaroos and Koalas or if the local cattlemen are around, have a chat to them about the legendary cattle crossings of Lewis Channel at the lowest ebb tides. You may even want to book to go on one of the crossings, either on horseback or meet them at the huts after your hovercraft trip along the beach.
