Replica of the Duigan Pusher Biplane of 1910 - A Photo AlbumPlease note this is a document in progress. Some details, eg. the dates of and credits for photography have yet to be fully confirmed. Indeed on October 26, 2000 it came to light that the photographs below (especially the black and white images) were in the main taken by one or more photographers from Mirror Australian Telegraph Publications, 2 Holt Street, Surrey Hills NSW 2010
This page salutes Ronald Lloyd Lewis (1919-1995) and documents the creation of his replica of the Duigan Pusher Biplane of 1910, the first all-Australian built aircraft in Australian skies. The replica, which took some eight years to build, is registered, has a permit to fly and is certified by CASA, the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority was recently donated to Museum Victoria by Ronald Lewis' daughters Carol Schultz and Larraine Parkinson (now living in New Zealand), as a permanent and living tribute to their father. The replica now hangs in pride of place in the Grande Galleria of the new Melbourne Museum

as a footnote, Ronald Lewis' grandson, Darren Schultz, passed away in 2000. A memory page has been placed on this site for Darren's family. I guess Darren and his grandpa are now flying together, once again. (Ed.)
