Monash University : Hargrave-Andrew Library
The "Lawrence Hargrave" Website
Version 5.5
In 1999, the Lawrence Hargrave website, then a single page, was substantially revised by Dr Russell Naughton and Prof. John Bird.
The website is affiliated with Monash University's Hargrave-Andrew Library (formerly The Hargrave Library) and is managed by the Centre for Telecommunications and Information Engineering (CTIE)
The site will be managed as an ongoing project to...
serve the needs of those studying early australian aviation
serve as an online 'workshop' and showcase for investigations into systems for autonomous air to surface visual recognition and inter airborn device communications.

Please Note:
(1) The historical images on this site are used in good faith. In combination with the accompanying text, their use will hopefully reinforce the role played by Lawrence Hargrave and other Australia aviation pioneers in the mid to late 19thC and 20thC, a role we believe, largely unknown, or at best, minimised by the more publicised work of others especially in the USA.
(2) Such is the repeated use of many of the images over the past 100 or so years (as found in the 'Gallery'), that the original copyright owner(s) would be difficult to establish without a level of research currently beyond the resources of the creators of this site. Should the original owner(s) of any images on this site feel that the use of same is an infringement of their copyright, would they please get in touch with russell.naughton@eng.monash.edu.au to discuss the matter.
(3) On June 21, 1999, the terms ©Chop Stik and ©Aerobotics were claimed respectively as the intellectual property of Dr Russell Naughton and Professor John Bird.
(4) On June 27, 1999, the term ©AeroKids were claimed respectively as the intellectual property of Dr Russell Naughton and Professor John Bird.
